MEET MIDSUMMER'S DIRECTOR: MICHAEL SCHOLAR JR.

Michael’s vision for the production Colonial theater’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is to present it as a fantasy that can be seen through the eyes of a child. “One question I always ask myself when directing a show is ‘who’s dream is this play?’ Whose eyes are we seeing the world through? A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a childlike fantasy that can be seen through the eyes of the often-forgotten Changeling Child who is at the center of the fight between the celestial parents Oberon and Titania. This will be a wonderful community production that blends professionals with emerging artists in this celebration of love and reconciliation.”

The Black Rider toured across North America for over a decade and is the only show to ever win “Best Production” at the Sterling Awards (Edmonton), the Betty Mitchell Awards (Calgary) and the Jessie Awards (Vancouver) - while also being nominated for “Best Touring Production” at the Dora Awards (Toronto). Hard Core Logo: Live received an Ovation Award Nomination for “Best New Work.”
