Six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives' enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. They declare that their show will be better than the Chippendales dancers because they'll go "the full monty"—strip all the way. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.

Tony Award winning Kinky Boots, the huge-hearted hit musical, tells the story of two people with absolutely nothing in common—or so they think! Charlie is a factory owner while Lola is a fabulous entertainer. With a little compassion and a lot of understanding, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible. Featuring 16 original songs by Cyndi Lauper, and a book by Harvey Fierstein, this joyous sensation “struts its stuff with sparkle, stilettos and heart.”

Based on the 1977 blockbuster film, Saturday Night Fever whisks you back to the 1970s, where open shirts, bell-bottoms, and disco were all the rage. Featuring music by the Bee Gees, this musical adaptation of the classic film is the story of a talented, streetwise kid from Brooklyn who attempts to escape his dead-end life through dancing. Packed with disco classics including “Stayin’ Alive,” “You Should Be Dancing,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” and many more, Saturday Night Fever sizzles with explosive energy and sensational dancing.

The Sound of Music features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, and is inspired by the memoirs “The Trapp Family Singers” by Maria Augusta Trapp. The original Broadway production debuted in 1958 led by Mary Martin and was followed by a record breaking film in 1965 starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The unforgettable musical tells the story of troubled nun sent to care for 7 well off children in a strict home run by a former sea-captain.  She changes their lives forever through song and incredible heart.

It has unrequited love, rivalry, magic, fairies fighting like humans, humans fighting like beasts of the forest, and the original story of going into the woods to find out what you really wish, more than anything!

Michael’s vision for the production Colonial theater’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is to present it as a fantasy that can be seen through the eyes of a child. “One question I always ask myself when directing a show is ‘who’s dream is this play?’ Whose eyes are we seeing the world through? A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a childlike fantasy that can be seen through the eyes of the often-forgotten Changeling Child who is at the center of the fight between the celestial parents Oberon and Titania. This will be a wonderful community production that blends professionals with emerging artists in this celebration of love and reconciliation.”

Born and raised in Regina, Canada, Michael Scholar Jr. holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta and an MFA in Directing at Columbia University. He is the Founding Artistic Producer of November Theatre, Vancouver which is known for such alternative musical theatre works as The Black Rider and Hard Core Logo: Live. The Black Rider toured across North America for over a decade and is the only show to ever win “Best Production” at the Sterling Awards (Edmonton), the Betty Mitchell Awards (Calgary) and the Jessie Awards (Vancouver) - while also being nominated for “Best Touring Production” at the Dora Awards (Toronto). Hard Core Logo: Live received an Ovation Award Nomination for “Best New Work.”
Michael was the playwright in residence for Vancouver’s Touchstone Theatre in 2010/2011; and the Artistic Associate for Regina’s Globe Theatre in 2011/2012, where he developed original work, programmed a season of the Sandbox Series and directed David Greig’s Midsummer (a play with songs). Other directing credits include Fat Pig (Equity Co-Op/Jessie Award Nomination, Vancouver); Humanity and No (Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon); I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change (Arts Club Theatre/Gateway Theatre, Vancouver); 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress (Presentation House, Vancouver); and the Fringe hit Barbie Screams (which he co-wrote).

Michael received the Canadian AEA Emerging Artist Award, and several grants from The Canada Council for the Arts including the JBC Watkins Award which allowed him to pursue his MFA in Directing at Columbia University. While in NY directing credits include the politically charged devised Mr. E’s Humongous Underground Digital Vaudeville Extravaganza!!! (Columbia University), Liz Thaler’s The Third Option (Amios/SHOTZ!), and Uncle Vanya (Medicine Show Theatre).
Michael’s directing credits also include a great deal of Shakespeare productions, having performed four shows with the celebrated Bard on the Beach in Vancouver (Canada), Assistant Directed Romeo and Juliet at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and most recently, having directed As You Like It for Studio 58/Langara College in Vancouver to critical acclaim.
