Slow Burn Theatre Company has announced a five-show 2026–2027 season at the Amaturo Theater in Fort Lauderdale, bringing audiences a lineup of acclaimed musicals that celebrate resilience, friendship, self-discovery, and the power of community.
The season opens with the Tony Award-winning Come From Away, the uplifting true story of a small Newfoundland town that welcomed thousands of stranded airline passengers in the aftermath of September 11. During the holidays, audiences can experience the magic of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a family-friendly musical adventure filled with imagination, unforgettable songs, and the wonder of Willy Wonka's extraordinary factory.
The season continues with Mean Girls, the hit Broadway adaptation of the beloved film, exploring friendship, identity, and the complexities of high school life. The emotional, Tony Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen follows with its moving story about loneliness, connection, and the search for belonging. Closing the season is Jonathan Larson's groundbreaking rock musical Rent, an enduring celebration of love, friendship, hope, and resilience.
All productions will be presented in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.
